I just caught my first fly fish on black gnat

Looks great. Thick like a humpy, if the dubbing likes floatant it should stay on top for a long time. Have you ever tied with micro crystal cactus chenille? Trying purple right now and fish are smoking it, and stays on top of stillwater for a good period with floatant. No dubbing to fool with!

Carey patterns are excellent flies I live in Washington state on the west side and these flies fished deep don't disappoint , my personal favorite is a black Carey special using black yarn, black Pheasant rump hackle (oversize hackle) with two and a half turns catch some nice browns with it. Love that vice I wish I could afford one like that very nice.
